Respect, Care and Openness

NEW CLIENTS WELCOME! It may be surprising to know that suicide rates are the highest in the Spring, especially in the month of April. As we are moving into Spring now, keep an eye on each other, reach out and call someone you haven't heard from in a while, invite someone for tea or a walk. People who are experiencing depression often can't reach out and children may not have the words or know what they are feeling. Elders especially may be isolated and feel they are a burden. Signs to watch for: 1. Sleeping too much or too little, low energy or feeling sad for more than a few weeks 2. Weight fluctuations, no appetite or eating too much 3. Children may be more irritable than sad 4. Difficulty focusing, remembering things or making decisions 5. Feelings of hopelessness or "what's the use" 6. Not interested in doing things that were once enjoyed 7. Talk of suicide To talk about what you or your child might be experiencing, or encourage a friend who may need help, call for a free 15-min. consultation to get started. NEW CLASSES/GROUPS!! Testimonials

“I have known Shawn as a colleague and friend since 2006 when we job-shared a speech-pathology position. I have observed her skillfully and creatively treating children with kindness, patience and a sense of humor that I have rarely seen in my career.”

Donna Bankson, Colleague, Retired Speech Pathologist

“Shawn provided outstanding care during the worst time of my life. With her gentle and caring nature, she helped me realize my potential is far greater than my circumstances. I will forever be grateful for Shawn's guidance.”

Former client

“Shawn worked with my children from elementary into middle school. She exhibits grace, kindness and respect. I have witnessed her ability to communicate with many children and parents, quickly adapting to the needs of the person and their unique challenges. ”
